Bio

Janice Gates has been teaching the integration of meditation, mindfulness and embodied practice for over twenty-five years in a wide range of settings, including at Spirit Rock Meditation Center, UC Berkeley, San Quentin Prison and at retreat centers around the globe. She is currently on the mentoring faculty for the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program with Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach (in conjunction with Sounds True and the Greater Good Science Center of Berkeley) and offers mindfulness based coaching and consulting. Janice is past President of the International Association of Yoga Therapists, ran a thriving mindful yoga center where she offered trainings for health care practitioners and yoga professionals integrating mindfulness and yoga therapy. She is author of Yogini, the Power of Women in Yoga (2006) and work has been featured in Oprah Magazine, Yoga Journal, the International Journal of Yoga Therapy and other publications.
